summary of 2013

Last day of 2013, well actually 10 mins left until year 2014.lol. I'll see if I can finish this post in 10 mins. xD

My 2013 is what I would call.. The end of a good book.
I would definitely miss it but to re-read it again is too much hassle. Many events took place in this year, for one.. My friends gave me a birthday surprise :) (which I've never had before) , I met great friends whom I know are true friends by heart and many more. Of course going through King's scouts journey has rewarded me the most unforgettable memories, both joyful and dreadful. Will never regret the path that I've taken in  2013 and the decisions I made as It really did help me grew a lot throughout this year. I learnt so much from happenings around me and

yes this sounds very cheesy but I hope the next book of mine is filled with a much more awesome plot.(not the malay literature plot where a dude steals the girl's clothes while she's showering plot, super LAME). And has a combination of much more genres (except horror), am I hoping for a love story? yes and no at the same time. But what's more important is that hopefully this new book of mine starts with a good chapter. Best wishes to all for the upcoming year :)

What's next?

And its that time of your life where everyone asks you that question...

What do you want to do next?

your future studies, your future career path, your future.

Coming from a kind of traditional chinese family , I will never be able to run away from these questions unless I give them an answer they like. I remember saying I liked drawing, maybe I could be a designer :D even though I was enthusiastic about it, my family waved it off as soon as I brought it up and told me it wasn't .. preferable as the pay wasn't high and such. So my dream was crushed by the mere fact that that certain career was deemed un-profitable. The same thing happened to lots of other dreams as well but anyways, I settled this duel with my family by deciding to take on the path to become a dentist or vet in the future.

I was happy, They were satisfied. Its a win-win situation.

I went to see my grandma yesterday, she knew from my mom that I was planning on being a dentist. She was delighted by that fact and supported me to pursue that career. Besides the occasional gossip about her neighbor's cousins' sister's son's dog's health condition( ah ma gossips), she was telling me to go for dentistry. And to be honest, it felt very good to have your family member support you with what you do.

Regardless of my results, I would like to give MEXT scholarship a try. Yes, its a scholarship to study in Japan and I really really really really really (REALLY) ....  WANT IT.
so what are you waiting for? set a goal and go for it! (and wish me luck too ;) )

Prom night 2013

prom was UH-MEH-ZING
note that it's not amazing but uh-meh-zing.

At first it was awkward. Seeing everyone in really dressed up and all but all these guys are people you know so no biggie. The atmosphere wasn't heated up yet and stuff.

MEH

The performances was okayyyy. I suppose it was. But most of us was too busy taking picture or eating to pay attention to the performances. Yet again, thanks to the awesome committee members for their all their hard work in preparing prom for us fourians.

ZING

Now comes the awesome part, where everyone goes crazy and starts dancing. Seriously. no one cares if you can dance or not, so get in and HAVE FUN! The DJ was so friggin' awesome!!!!
(thank god I wore the comfortable heels), dancing in heels HURT. (if you wear the wrong heels) and I don't mean slow dance (house music man, what do you expect? x) ) Kinda hooked on house music right now, lol. Next in my bucket list--
go to a rave when I'm old enough.

 yes,korean to the max xD

now all we need is a red carpet ;)

My funny teacher :)

When I was 4 or 5 , I ditched the local kindergarden halfway because the way they taught was by scolding and yelling , not only that but the place was either filthy or just plain unhygienic cause I remember returning home with a running nose or some disease.

Knowing that I needed something to do other than staying home all day watching TV and reading my bro's collection of doraemon comics, My mom sent me to tuition. The tuition is owned by a lady who we all call Teacher Amra. Teacher Amra is always smiling somehow, she's warm and hilarious. Unlike my previous kindergarden teachers, she seldom scold children. Instead, she tried to understand one's problem. This vast difference made me like her instantly, though I was never one to be naughty in class but being in the spot where you feel secured about not being scolded for something you didn't do really helps.

She speaks in a carefree manner, you'll always hear prim and proper english from her. Because of her, I never even dare to mouth the word "stupid" even though other kids were cursing each other with foul languages I failed to understand. But she likes to give her students nicknames , sometimes the nicknames were so funny I swear I'm glad she didn't give me one. She'd call a buff boy "satish-kurti "(don't exactly know how to spell it but whatever, kurti means small) because the fella used to be a small kid when he was young and grew up to be buff. I'd be lying if I said I was good in English naturally, coming from a chinese family , Teacher Amra was my only source of english education other than television and storybooks. For that, I'm sincerely grateful for all the effort she put in teaching me the language widely used in the world.

She kept moving from a place to another back then, the first time I went to her tuition , it was situated in a peaceful area. But what made that place mysterious and fun at the same time was her neighbor, the green monster. Teacher called him the green monster because he had a green car, green this, green that, green EVERYTHING. I've never seen green monster before because the fence was really high (and i was a teenie tiny kid). But I heard that he was a bad-tempered man, always quarreling for a small reason. (I don't know whether the rumors were true or not though). I think my favorite was still that house with a green monster living next to it. Kids could run around outside on the small patch of grass and say "HI" to Ginger. (Ginger is teacher's dog)

I just finished teaching my 4 year old niece some alphabets and when she told me alphabets weren't important, I got slightly emotional. I tried making her understand the importance of alphabets but sadly, It was of no use. She didn't have the heart to continue learning. I got back to my room and I thought,
"how in the world did teacher do it?"
I felt like I failed miserably at teaching. (Kudos to all teachers out there.) Even though I knew from the start I wasn't cut out for being a teacher anyway given my level of patience but it really feels dreadful . Teacher Amra was possibly the most fun teacher I had throughout the years, no one could beat her at that. Not only did she teach us english, she taught me manners and lots more. I remember the satisfaction and pride when I received those few stickers on my homework signaling a good job or a pen for completing dictation. She taught me that hard work will earn me not only rewards, but also appreciation. It made a big difference for a kid because people seldom realize that kids need appreciation as well.

She introduced us to this alien named MAMI. He has only one eye and has loads of problems. Sometimes he had a girlfriend, sometimes he had a car. MAMI was an alien she created to teach students english. I could still remember the one-eyed alien with the stickman figure till today.

I spent most of my birthdays at teacher's place. (while most of you celebrate it with a dinner with parents or a birthday party, I'm celebrating it in tuition with my tuition friends and teacher) I couldn't say I regret any of it, it was indeed something I cherished till now. Teacher Amra helped the birthday boy/girl cut the cake and sometimes even gave us presents. Funny how a small gift can brighten a person's day but it's true.

Others may call you umbrella due to some sort of failure of pronouncing the word amra (lol, I still don't get the umbrella joke till now), Maybe you're really mary poppins. Maybe all your students were actually jane and michael banks. (that really explains the umbrella thing doesn't it?) All in all, I sincerely thank teacher Amra for all her teachings. She will always be the funny teacher that taught me something more than just english.

The girl who grew up late

Ever wonder if fairy tales will ever come true? Growing up, One is given the choices to believe in fairy tales , believing that one day .. happy ever after will happen. Or wave it off as something absurd and stupid, fairy tales are merely stories for children, not something to be taken seriously.

I grew up late in a certain way, (in the mental aspect) or to put it more precisely.. the girly aspect. Recently I started questioning myself, what have I done with my life? I just finished watching a movie and yep ._. it got me thinking. There are people who DID something in their high school years, what did I do? Sure I got king's scouts and a bunch of good friends. But in the mental aspect? nothing ._.
Most teens fall in love and all that in high school, and there's me (pathetically watching others and cursing myself for even thinking about it) lol

Most teenage girls go out with friends, go for sleepovers, do their hair and while they're doing that, I'm chopping wood somewhere in the middle of the jungle hoping that it doesn't rain. (tragic @.@) Am I saying I regret being a scout? NO. never in a billion years. But I could've invested more time in being "normal" if I weren't so.. against being all pink and girly. In reality, I like pink (will never admit it) I think family had a part in it as well, yes I promised them no relationships yada yada yada... until I graduate high school. Lol, that doesn't matter.

My family kind of brainwashed me somehow that I wasn't girly enough, I had to be prim and proper. example? My mom would say I hair looks like a broom and would ask me to cut it off. lol. which is the main reason why I tie it up the whole god dang time. Other than that,Somehow my whole family is convinced that I would crash and fall if I were to ever put on a pair of heels.( lol, about that..I kinda snapped at my sister yesterday cuz I was fed-up about the crash and fall thing, I know I'm "accident proned" sometimes but what happened to believing in me? lol , kinda regretted snapping at her though.I know she meant well)

I painted my nails, learnt how to walk in heels, read some fashion magazines, but does all that define growing up? To be honest I don't think so, if this were a game, I'm still at the tutorial part of the god damned game. Something happened recently and it led me to realize that.. you have to build yourself up to a point where when people wreck you, you can build yourself again.

As long as you're happy with yourself , what does other people's opinion matter?

Make yourself feel beautiful, its okay.If it gives you confidence, why not?

If you don't love yourself, how do you expect people to love you?

My crazy cousins :D

Just a thought : plain clothes, big difference

Lots of events lately resulting in me having to search for presentable clothes . lol. how do I feel?
one word.
                       TIRING.

Picking clothes are tiring. Trying on clothes are tiring. Keeping clothes are tiring.
    EVERYTHING IS TIRING -_-

I'm already at the brink of exhaustion merely just trying on clothes. Lol, not to mention handling criticism from family about how you should lose weight and whatsoever. Not only does it tire me physically, it tortures me mentally as well. It pushed me to a point of thinking..
what if what we wear doesn't matter?
What if how you match the clothes don't matter at all?
What if you could just hang out with people regardless of what brand you're wearing?
what if?

I remember the headache-less years when I was a child and clothes were just .. clothes. They serve as garments to keep you warm . As long as you wear clothes, you're good to go. But no, society now requires one to "dress accordingly". You get criticized if you didn't know how to match pale pink and green. You're seen as a complete nerd if all you wear is sweats and pants. Not to mention all the advertising nowadays that really kills one's self esteem .Tall and slender models, looking good no matter how ridiculous the clothes are. And then there's you, looking like a drag no matter how expensive the rag you're currently wearing costs.

Why can't we all just dress plain and simple?
Less headache. Less conflicts. and you know the old saying- less is more :)

Other than that, did you know the industry nowadays are polluting the environment just to make what you're wearing now?

sad isn't it?
Just think how life would be so much easier if everyone weren't so obsessed over what they're wearing and more important inner beauty is.

DURIAN (how to remove durian smell)

There are two seasons in Malaysia. (we have seasons?!)

        winter?summer?

No, Malaysia still isn't snowing , Malaysians are too hot for snow anyway =/ (NOT)

._. .. rainy season and.. sibeh hot season?

Malaysia is hot the WHOLE DANG YEAR LA. -_-

       then? O_O

Durian season and rambutan season lorh, like that also dunno :P

Yeshh, the long awaited durian season is finally here (muahahahhahaha) . Durians are like golden treasures tucked safely in a safe, for some...durians are like a stink bomb that causes the end of the world.( lol, dramatic much?)
Personally I love durian, it's OSUUMMMMMM. But my sis doesn't, which makes it feel like a mission to clear off the durian smell ASAP before she starts complaining or puking.

Guide to removing durian smell from breath and hands.
1. Breath-- other than the usual gargling and brushing teeth like madmen , the other solution is to fill the shell of the durian with water. And gargle using that. I don't know how the math works for this but it just..works.lol.

2.Hands-- Use the seed of the durian as a soap and rub it on your hand as you rinse you hand with water.

Take my heart.. GIVE ME DURIAN INSTEAD !!

Stuff you might not know about the pinafore.

Next Monday is gonna be my last day of high school, which is the last day I'm ever gonna wear a pinafore ever again :D

Malaysian primary and high school uniform for girls are either the pinafore or the "baju kurung". I'm gonna talk bout the pinafore since I've been wearing it for the past 11 years.(gawd..I'm so old..) Primary school girls can be seen wearing dark blue pinafores with the school logo sewn on it. Every day was a routine of ..undergarments..check..shorts..check..blouse..check..pinafore..check..belt..DAMMIT WHERE'S MY BELT?!

The belt proved to be of use whenever there was a speech going on and we were so..BORED
We remove the belt and start playing with it, folding it in a zig zag way and then tugging it .It ends up looking like a rose in the end. Primary school girls, entertaining themselves by turning belts into roses.(how much more awesome can we get?)

   Moving on to high school..
Back then when I was in primary school I anticipated the time when I would get to upgrade my dark blue pinafore to the turquoise colored one the high school students were wearing. Theirs look so much cooler somehow.(SOMEHOW)

The high school pinafore doesn't have a removal belt. And the sizes are sometimes..off. Some of the girls would send it to a tailor to give them more "shape" if you know what I mean. The pinafore is magically shorter than what the school rules would accept. Anyways, Not gonna dwell on that.Moving on....

Sometimes my pinafore gets too friendly with the handle of the gate and it ends up hooked to the gate or anything when I walk too close. It's a nuisance to have your pinafore hooked to the gate and it pulls you back while you're walking forward.(HONESTLY IT SUCKS)

The good thing about the pinafore?
It's a good apron.(honestly) Whenever I head home after school, I'll just fix lunch while wearing that.(It serves as a good shield just in case the pan decides to spit oil at me)

Le random juniors pops out of nowhere and raises phone up and poses.
Reflex told me to do the following..
SMILE first.
ask later.
(it might go onto social media, I don't wanna look like a tired and annoyed girl
after school.Okay fine, maybe I was tired and annoyed :P a tad bit :P)

Doctor Who

A year ago, My friend --Jeffrey introduced me to this series called Doctor Who. My first reaction was.. Who? What's his name? (I forgot what he answered). Anyways, I kinda..sorta forgot about my promise to check it out until...

yep, Google reminded me.  Thanks Google :)
I googled Doctor Who afterwards since I needed to get a clue of where I'm suppose to start. For those of you who don't know why I don't I just start watching from the first episode, well this is why..

-The very first episode was in 1963 and it is still on-going till now-2013-(50 FRIGGIN' YEARS MAN) Its practically longer than any on-going dramatic hokkien drama my late-grandma used to watch. And mind you, those chinese drama's were so long .. My grandma watched every episode since it first aired and my sadly, my grandma passed away without seeing the ending. (yes, it is still on-going, even the ones alive don't know the ending)

Doctor Who is a british science-fiction television program.
The ACCENT ohmaiggawddddd....*drool* , Not one to usually get hyped up bout science-fiction but.. dang, this one is AWESOMEEEEEE (*grabs glasses*Don't bother calling me,I'm going into geek mode B) )
Probably gonna REALLY start watching after exam is over. Should be watching from the eleventh doctor since.. (he's cute -stinkin' reality sinks in- *scoffs*, I'm not shallow,just.. spoiling my eye once in a while :P) I looked through some videos on youtube and theres this one video ..

I was watching it and not even halfway I felt something wet trickling down my face. dammit, I ended up crying T^T ( Video below if you wanna join me,warning, no tissue provided)

Sunday morning

"Sunday morning rain is falling...." (but ...its not raining -_-)  Maroon 5  why you no sing
"sunday morning sun is shining?!" (lol, being unreasonable again +.+, still like that song tho :P)

So here I am,pathetic as hell early in the morning trying to channel my utmost inner asian to come forth and battle a war called spm.
That particular asian-self loves studying (I'm shocked by her too ._.) she thinks that every study material is like god's gift for her brain when she starts going at it like crazy.Sadly, that part of me is still hibernating somewhere since god knows when. She finds physics to be fascinating and history is just a cherry on top.(I'm not joking here, I really do like history ) think about it, history is like a time machine bound in 2 books(according to my syllabus)

It's a blast to the past!

And truth to be told i feel so awesome whenever I do chemistry. 2 years ago I wouldn't have had any idea what the hell was a periodic table and what not. Other than that, can you believe that I actually am interested in literature? (even Chinese literature nonetheless D: )
well, that "she" has gotta wake up right now or else I'd be wasting time till I get my head in the game.
Lol,I mean seriously, I'm so ... All I can say Is I feel pathetic right now to the point where I drank a coffee cat for breakfast. Don't believe me?

"kopi cat"

Anyways,it's a failed attempt but nonetheless still an attempt out of boredom.yes,it's coffee. I know it's not good for me.yes.im a little crazy about Cats . Don't judge me :P (lol)

Letter of complaint

So today is like SPM day 2..
the subject was english. And honestly the only thing I felt like writing about was a letter of complaint to the stinking menstrual cycle. Yep, I'm actually bitching about my period. So if you're first reaction to the word menstrual cycle is eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee............!!  You may as well be on your way to sign up for some instant GROW UP classes. It is a perfectly normal thing and mind you, I have every right to bitch about it.
Anyways, I wasn't experiencing any cramps or whatever (I rarely do) , but the damn thing messed up my hormones and I was so god damned moody and lightheaded . I swear I thought I was gonna pass out in the middle of exam. And due to the mood swings, I'm getting paranoid about not doing well enough for english. My head started forming scenes of how my family would react if I got a B for english. (they would freak). I felt like I didn't do well enough for english, I wasn't really satisfied with my essay.
In a nutshell, LET BYGONES BE BYGONES, there's no point of crying over spilt milk right now.lol.

Tales of swords and love

It was cold outside, The downpour earlier left behind a chill that made campers wish they had someone to snuggle to. As always, Trainees had to camp out while the seniors and superiors got to be in the cabin situated not far from the camp siteIt would've sucked, big time, to be camping out alone in a weather like this. But rules are rules, The authority prohibits anyone from sharing a tent for fear of any unwanted relationships that might cause a ruckus. Even so, I always tell them to keep their head in the game, once you join in, there's no turning back. Many have failed to survive though physically capable, determination is the key to survive in this blood war. Be mentally and physically prepared , And luck shall be on your side..if luck favors you at all.

I was lucky enough to be indoors enjoying a late night talk around the table and breaking the ice among newcomers, enjoying his presence beside me.I got to talk to his elder sister, She started off the conversation  by asking me about my knowledge in Feng Shui. I must admit that being a chinese doesn't mean that the knowledge is already in my blood but hopefully those times where I used to snoop into the prohibited study to read all about it would come in handy right now. We got along just fine in our conversation , an on and off thunder in between joined the discussion whilst the flash of lightning lit up the whole room. It took me quite some time to compose myself from jumping whenever the thunder struck, luckily the warm atmosphere indoors did some justice in calming me down.  At some point she asked me to crack the code of this daily occurring dream of hers which consists of being tracked down by a massive tiger with silver eyes, which occasionally turned gold. Interpreting dreams wasn't really my thing ,but trying to impress her was . I excused myself from the table saying I needed to go to the toilet for a sec, Hopefully the trip to the toilet could buy me some time to come up with a reasonable explanation about her dream.

I ran through several possibilities about the dream as I made my way to the toilet situated near the trainee campsites. The moonlight mirrored a soft glow on puddles and lakes, Only the sound of crickets and the occasional snore from heavy sleepers were heard.
"Thats it! ", I thought to myself. I'm just gonna tell her I've got no leads in what her dream is about but something about the dream was quite .. off. I couldn't put a finger to why the thought sent chills down my spines but the way she started trembling when she told me about the dream was down right scary.

Just as I made my way out of the toilet, My ears picked up on shrieks and screams coming off from the trainee campsite.
"SHIT!WE ARE UNDER ATTACK" the thought urged me to rush in mindlessly like an idiot to save my comrades but thank god all those years of hardcore training made me do otherwise.

I let instinct take over and scanned around for a weapon. I sent my sword for forging today and an idiot I was for doing so on this very day. Thank god the blacksmith shed was nearby , But my sword wasn't there. The blacksmith had some serious explaining to do after  the war , I grabbed the prototype of my sword that was left somewhere in a barrel where I left it the other day.
Feeling way more secured with a weapon in hand, I charged out of the shed and intended to slaughter each and everyone of those buggers who dared to cross the borderline. I intended to make my way to the cabin where all the others were, where he was. But truth to be told, fending the enemies off took up quite a lot of concentration than I liked. Wielding the prototype of my sword was nerve wrecking, the weight wasn't just quite right and several times I scarcely escaped from death whilst adjusting to the sword.

I fought side by side with the trainees and eventually exhaustion took over. I couldn't hold it up much longer without my own sword. Much to my surprise, he showed up wielding two swords right in front of me. One of the two swords, was my very own custom made sword. I didn't have much time to question him as he literally threw the sword in my direction willing me to grab it .
The moment I grabbed the hilt of the black mischief, I felt the sword grasping my hand and slowly extended its way up to my arm and gradually equipped me like a gladiator. This sensation felt oddly reassuring but there wasn't much time to dwell on that. The sudden upgrade granted me more speed and agility not to mention the usage of elements. I could fend off more opponents this way and need not worry about shedding more blood than intended with this armor clad. The fight came to a point where .....

(sorry for cliffhanging, I didn't know how to continue since all the above was from a recent dream. Hope you guys enjoyed it, or not. Some parts didn't make sense but dreams don't make sense in general anyway :P, as for the title, tales of swords and love, i think its more about swords than love.As for the constant He and Him's , to be honest I myself dunno who or what he is . High school graduation

Graduation was FUN. (Though my heels sorta killed me the last few hours)
The usual attire for graduation is office clothes. But nah, I don't wanna look so old just yet. :P Woke up dang early(but I went back to sleep :P) . Prepping took a long time ._. , usual girl crisis -_-
Actually wanted to wear my baju kurung until I found this dress my sis gave me a long time ago in my cupboard xD

All I did for make up was a last minute eyeliner which I experimented on the spot since I never used one before. Lol, And my class teacher and friends had slight trouble figuring out my identity. Especially my class teacher who stared at me and back at her namelist and me again. (still didn't manage to figure out my name, the irony is the day before she was like :"kai syn,dah siap tak komsas?" )
The moment I arrived,While still stuck in awe as everyone I know looks so nice, I was dragged to take picture with a group of pretty classmates. This is sorta my first time taking pic at an occasion where everyone dresses like a diva, And so.. hahaha, I was so lost when the pretty girl I took pic with put her arm around my waist. I was like ._. dafuq do I do with my hands? Well, in the end I just went with the flow. lol. All in all, graduation was better than I imagined though I didn't manage to take pic with everyone *sobs*
